Jobs and Economic Growth
In the past two years, our country and state have experienced massive economic shifts, creating deficits which have had consequences for all of us. But this is not a situation we can solve simply through continuing to cut spending.
When the state cuts local government aid, when we fail to fund schools or nursing homes, northern Minnesota loses important jobs - cooks, custodians, caregivers - technology support staff and teachers. More cuts will not help our local economies.
Thoughtful and judicious investments in education, technology and energy innovations can help Minnesota control spiraling fuel and health care costs and revitalize economic growth.
